Himalayan Hikers organizes transport for trekkers from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning which will leave for Khanyasni camp around 6:00 am to 7:00 am.
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful places in India. The main attraction of this place is Rajpur road go through it and get a glimpse of Dehradun’s beauty. Reach Mussoorie after an hour which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. People visit it heavily during vacations with their family and friends.
After half an hour, stop at kempty fall. Have breakfast there and witness people from different parts of the world. The break will be of maximum 1 hour. Ahead the peaks are visible and further you will come close to holy Yamuna River. If you want, then take a short break of 20 minutes and enjoy being around it.
Further you will cross the small markets of Nainbagh, Damta and Naugaon. Reach Purola around 1:30 pm and take a break there for lunch. After having lunch proceed to Sankri via Jarmola. From there the back of Kedarkantha is visible. Go through the picturesque zig zag road amid pine forest of Jarmola.
Reach Mori and after 1 hour you will come across a check post Naitwar, reaching the Khanyasni camp site you will enjoy the tea or snacks.
Day 2 : Trek from Khanyasni camp to Sarutal camp
Trek Distance – 05 km – 3/4 Hours journey
Mode of journey – On foot
Altitude – Sarutal camp – 2000 Meter
Night Stay – Our Camp- on twin share basis
Today trek is through some high altitude villages, first you have to reach Khanyasni and to reach there you have to cross a ridge, the climb is steep and your trek starts by passing through pine forest, the climb is steep take breaks and continue your ascend.
The trail is confusing so be aware and follow your trek leader there are no water streams on the way so carry enough water with you. After 4 hours of ascend you reach Bitri village. This village is beautiful there are wooden houses and the villagers are warm, they welcome by greeting you, there is a school in Bitari and a temple there, the temple is in Kinnauri style which is the main attraction for people, spend some-time here exploring this place and lifestyle of people living here. After having lunch, now start your trek towards Sarutal.
Sarutal is a lake in middle of a meadow, this is your campsite today. This site is soothing; far from hustle and bustle of city. Relax here enjoy your meal and night-stay in tents.
Day 3 :Trek from Sarutal camp to Badang camp
Trek Distance – 108 km – 5/6 Hours journey
Mode of journey – On foot
Altitude – Badang camp – 2600 Meter
Night Stay – Camp – on twin share basis
Badang is a picturesque meadow and this is a perfect desirable campsite with fascinating beauty. Today’s trek would be moderate and there are only ascends.
After witnessing great morning views from Sarutal have breakfast and leave for Badang, in the starting the climb is steep and the way is rocky after 1 hour of climb you will come across a stream from there pine forest starts which you have to cross, the trail gets leveled from there and after a level walk ascend starts.
You can spot Langoor families and Himalayan birds this place is rich in Flora and Fauna so animals live in this region. Reach Badang a splendid meadow which is surrounded by Deodar forest. The water source is a flowing stream near campsite. Enjoy your dinner there and overnight stay in tents.
Day 4 : Trek from Badang camp to via Vijay Top (3800 Meter) Dhaldhar camp
Trek Distance – 13 km – 6/7 Hours journey
Mode of journey – On foot
Altitude – Dhaldhar camp – 3200 Meter
Night Stay – Our Camp site – on twin share basis
After breakfast start your trek to Dhaldhar camp via Vijay Top which is at a height of 3700 meter the climb to the top is steep with some spell binding views of snow covered mountains and magnificent views of Vishkhopri, Obra valley and Khimloga Pass. Enjoy the panorama views there and then start the Dhaldhar camp
After a restful night, Day 3 begins with determination. This is the big day. We are expected to do 13 km. The climb to Vijay Top, at close to 3700 meter is the highlight. The landscape is pretty much the same with streams, trees and meadows. Flowers of every color imaginable dot the landscape. We get to see some towering peaks in the distance. Clouds and mist roll in and out and the sun remains hidden behind the dark clouds. We reach Vijay Top and the stunning vista makes it all worth it. A total of 3.5 hours has been spent
Dhaldhar is a Ridge camp site wide meadow and a great camping spot. Setup your camps and retire for the night.
Day 5 : Trek from Dhaldhar camp to Devbasa camp, Today we are cover only 6 km trek need for High Altitude requires proper acclimatization.
Trek Distance – 06 km – 2/3 Hours journey
Mode of journey – On foot
Altitude – Devbasa camp – 3650 Meter
Night Stay – Camp – on twin share basis
The morning views from Dhaldhar are gorgeous as the rising sun reflects orange light on peaks which adds beauty to them and they look beautiful as never before. Wake up early and don’t miss to witness the sunrise from this high point. Then have your breakfast in camps and leave for Devbasa, our next campsite and in 2/3 hours you will reach there.
Now, from Dhaldhar camp you have to go from one mountain ridge to another, walk through meadows for 30 minutes and when you go further some amazing views of Swargarohini, Bandarpunch and Nalgan will welcome you. Continue walking on the ridge it will take more than four hours and you can see Rhododendrons growing there in abundance. The peaks are in front and the sight is scenic, you get 180 degree view from here.
Continue walking there are some descends but you have to
cross one ridge than another after one hour you are going to Devbasa, this area
is plain and rocky and it is the place which joins two mountains. You can see
Rocky Mountains around you and this campsite is windy because this is at high
altitude and the area s rocky. From Devbasa the trail of Baraadsar is visible.
Setup your tents here, relax in your tents as tomorrows trek will be a
difficult one. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 6 : Trek from Devbasa camp to Baraadsar Lake explore beautiful lake and surrounding high altitude mountain range
Trek Distance –07 km – 8/9 Hours journey
Mode of journey – On Foot.
Altitude – Baraadsar Lake – 4300 Meter
Night Stay – Our camp – on twin share basis
Today’s trek is the longest one on rough trail from Devbasa to the meadow of Baraadsar, you can take any of the two routes. The short one is steep and you have to cross a pass to directly reach your campsite and the long one is by taking a round of the mountain and from that point campsite is 3 hours away. Choose according to your capability.
The trail is Moderate, there are rocks and big boulders, and you can see the path on the other side of ridge is made up of rocks which are ridge climb the weather here is extremely cold so carry enough woolen clothes.
From Baraadsar ridge you can see Baraadsar Lake from a distance and the ridges surround snow mountains, Trek to a phenomenal “Wish fulfilling Lake” “Baraadsar Lake”. It lies amidst high ridges at an altitude of 4,300 meters and is worshiped by the people. It is one of the virgin treks not known by many. Enjoying some time Baraadsar lake overnight stay in camp
Day 7 : Trek from Baraadsar Lake to Kukurkandi
Distance – 06 km – 4/5 Hours journey
Mode of journey –On foot
Altitude – Kukurkandi – 4445 Meter

Don’t miss out the sunrise, it is bliss to watch sunrise from the places which are undisturbed, the color of the peaks changes to orange and golden when the sun reflects it’s light on them.
The local people of that area believe that wishes never go unfulfilled here, so do make a wish to try out if it gets true. Have your breakfast early and leave for Kukurkandi which is your campsite for today. It is 6 km away from here and it will take 4-5 hours to reach there.
Kukurkandi is a meadow which is the most beautiful place which comes after Baraadsar Lake, when you reach there you will see mesmerizing beauty of that Thach. Today you will be spending your night there in the Kukurkandi meadow. You have come half way of your trek and day after tomorrow you will reach your destination Kanasar Lake.
Setup you tents here in this ravishing campsite, enjoy the views from here, the air is refreshing and the environment is serene here. Relax here praising the beauty of this place. Have your meals and enjoy the food and night stay in camps
Day 8: Trek from Kukurandi to Manjivan
Distance – 07 km – 4/5 Hours journey
Mode of journey –On foot
Altitude – Manjivan – 4512 Meter
Night Stay – Camp site – on twin share basis
Wake up early and see the beautiful morning view with a hot
cup of tea it will be cold there but the hot tea will make you feel good.
Today’s trek is 7 km long and you will reach Manjiban in 5-6 hours.
Lunch will be packed for you because today is a long trek, have lunch in middle
of the day. Take breaks on your trek and keep walking on the right trail, a
local guide must be with you to guide you properly.
Reach Manjiban, now you are close to Kansar Lake and tomorrow is your trek towards the divine sacred lake. Manjiban campsite is beautiful, on this trek the campsites are ideal and you will get beautiful views of mountains which are clearly visible.
The fetching views will make you spellbound; enjoy your food and overnight stay in tents.
Day 9: Manjiban to Kanasar Lake (3 km) on same day to Vishkhopri/ 8km
Distance – 11 km – 8/9 Hours journey

Altitude – Kanasar Lake – 4,600 Meter

Manjiban to Kanasar Lake is a short trek but the route is rough so it may take time to reach there. Today is the day when you will reach your destination “Kanasar Lake” it remains covered by the layers of ice and is surrounded by snow. The path to this lake is steep and it gets inaccessible in winters as it totally gets covered by snow.
When you reach this place you can see the magnificent views of Kinnaur Mountains. The vicinity of this place is serene and the aura is bracing which is very different from the regular hustle and bustle of life. The Lake is deep; people visiting there on regular basis have told this. It is worshiped by the villagers and they visit this holy lake every year during a festival for bath of their deity. Spend some time around this high altitude lake and capture moments.
You need to put up a lot of energy to reach this point but this lake is worth watching and the feeling which you get when you reach here is inexplicable. After having good time here leave for Vishkhopri, this is at an altitude of 3,566 metres and this place is almost untouched, this place has a mythological story of Pandavas, you can ask the stories from the local guide and enjoy night stay and food in tents.
Day 10: Vishkhopri to Liwari Village
Distance – 14 km – 7/8 Hours journey

The distance from Kedarnath to Gaurikund is 14 km, it is a well-defined and well maintained path, descend through this trail and reach Gauri Kund same day drive to Rishikesh or Dehradun
Day 11: Liwari village to Baincha Road head (07 km) on same day to Sankri (36 km) (1920 meter over night stay hotel

Mode of journey –On foot – by taxi 39 km

Wake up early have your breakfast and you can see people already working in their fields and are busy with their cows and sheeps. Leave for Baincha road head which is 07 km from village Liwari.
Reach Jakhol which is a famous village located in Mori, when you reach there take a break and leave for Sankri by Taxi. Sankri has a mini market which is a trekker’s delight as it is Base Camp of 25 treks. It remains busy with the hustle and bustle of people.
We have a hotel there named “Swargarohini Palace” have your meal there, we also serve our traditional food and enjoy your night stay in a hotel.
Day 12: Sankri to Dehradun by taxi
Distance – 210 km – 8/9 Hours journey
Mode of journey –By Taxi
After having breakfast, leave early for Dehradun so that you can reach there around 6:00 to 6:30 pm in the evening. Have you lunch in the middle of your journey.
