There are a few local buses in the morning to reach Sankri from Dehradun which depart from Prince Chowk near the railway station at 5 AM and 7 AM. You can also take these buses from Vikasnagar at 6 AM and 8 AM. It takes around 9 to 10 hours to reach Sankri from Dehradun.

You can also take a shared taxi from Dehradun to Sankri which departs at 7:30 AM from Grand Hotel near Prince Chowk and takes about 8 hours to reach Sankri. The cost is around INR 500 to INR 700.

Apart from this, you can also travel by your own vehicle.

The best weather is observed from February to April. The temperature usually remains between 10°C to 15°C during sunny days and between -7°C to -10°C during cold nights.

BSNL has a tower for mobile connectivity in Sankri but most of the time the network does not work properly. If you want to make important calls to your family and friends, it is better to do so on the way before reaching Sankri. The best network coverage can be found in Purola market.
