Trekking Tips by Marketing Manager Mr. Kuldeep Singh Rawat

Trekking Tips: Being from a small village Sankri of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand, love for nature and mountains has always been in his heart and soul. He has 11 years of experience in the trekking industry.

Whenever he looks back, the flashback of all the good memories from exploring the Himalayas is inexplicable. These moments can only be remembered and are hard to express in words.

Trekking Tips from His Life Experience in Trekking and Mountaineering

Since childhood, this love kept him close to the mountains. He believed that enjoyment in life is necessary and every moment should be lived to the fullest. After completing school, he realized that a conventional job was not for him and wanted to pursue something different.

Then the founder of Himalayan Hikers, Mr. Bhagat Singh Rawat, asked about his plans. He replied:

“I only want to work in the field of adventure. Trekking and Mountaineering is my passion. After pursuing this, the betterment of villages and working with the villagers will be my priority, because I want to stop them from migrating to other places in search of jobs and good education.”

Due to a lack of jobs and education in remote areas, people migrate to satisfy their needs. His family supported his decision to pursue mountaineering courses from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM).

How He Started His Trekking Journey

After completing basic and advanced courses, Mr. Bhagat Singh started sending him with trek groups as a trek leader. Over five years, he explored treks with people from different parts of the world. He learned that “experiences are the best teachers.”

Trekkers praised him and wanted him as their trek leader on every trek. This motivated him to maintain high-quality service standards. Today, Himalayan Hikers organize Family Package Treks, school tours, customized packages, Fixed Departures, and other adventure activities.

Trekking is a Bliss

  • In the forest, there may be no network. You will realize that worldly things are not crucial for living. Air, water, food, and shelter are enough and more important than gadgets.
  • Cascading waterfalls, streams through meadows, blooming flowers, and camping under starry skies are essential experiences.
  • Do not disturb the environment or wildlife. Take care of cleanliness and follow the “leave no trace” principle to keep places unspoiled.
