Obra Gad

Devkiyara Trek is an ecstatic meadow which highlights some majestic regions lke Obra Gad, Jakhol, Bhawa and many more. This meadow is the major attraction of the Himalayas which lies at an altitude of 4,100m. Yet, this meadow is unexplored and comes under unexplored treks of Himalayan region.
It lies between the twin valley i.e. Rupin and Supin and parallel to Har ki Dun valley as well. Therefore, the views and surroundings are quite similar to Har Ki Dun trek and yet the trail is quite easy as compared to Har Ki Dun. The trail is approximately 4 km long and goes through dense forest section and later giver way to meadows; camping here is a bliss!
The meadow offers magnificent view of the Rangnala peak, Bandarpunch, Kalanag and sight of high ridges and unnamed Himalayan peaks. Bestriding between Himachal and Uttarakhand mountains, this meadow has essence of Indian mythology as well.

Obra Gad

Moreover, having so many popular treks like Kedarkantha, Har Ki Dun, any many more this trek is renowned as the trek of the year. According to Indian mythology, Devkiyara Trek  is the place of origin of Someshwar devta i.e. Lord Shiva and it considered to be sacred and divine. It also has essence of Lord Shiva and the meadows are truly spiritual and holy.

Undoubtedly, this trek is truly majestic which is quite underrated due to popularity of other treks. It comprise of everything be it forests to meadows to lovely flora and fauna, in a peaceful and solitude environment.
Furthermore, the trail of the trek takes through some primitive villages of Uttarakhand and you can peek-a-boo into the captivating lives of villagers. And being the least explored trek, it is away from hustle and bustle of the trekkers. Therefore, it’s bona fide trek for solitude explorers.
Obra Gad
