Short Itinerary of Devalsari  Trek

Day 1 – Drive from Dehradun to Thatyur (2/3 hours) (67 km) and trek to Devalsari (45 min)

Day 2 – Devalsari to Lumsu Ridge (3 hours)

Day 3 – Lumsu Ridge to Lumsu Top; descent to Thatyur and drive to Dehradun

Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Thatyur (2/3 hours) (67 km) and trek to Devalsari (45 min)

The vehicle will be arranged from Dehradun Railway Station which leaves early in the morning for Devalsari. The journey is through beautiful Mussoorie road, en route do not miss to see famous Maggie points and foggy weather.

The vehicle will drop you at Thatyur and from there the trek starts towards Devalsari. It lies in the Aglar valley of Tehri Garhwal. This is a great place for bird watching and spotting colourful butterflies. Setup your camps in the peaceful environment here and retire for the night.

Day 2 : Devalsari to Lumsu Ridge (3 hours)

Start the trek from Devalsari and go through the dense forest of Oaks and Rhododendrons to reach Lumsu Ridge. The serpentine hilly trail blooms with abundant wildflowers.

The rocky terrain is steep which gets tiring but the Himalayan vistas offered by the ridge are rewarding. Setup your camps here, relax there in the tranquil charm and settle for the day.

Day 3:Lumsu Ridge to Lumsu Top; descent to Thatyur and drive to Landour

Wake up early today because the trek is long. After breakfast start the ascent to Lumsu Top. Pass the dense forested sections and cross some steep ascents.

The top offers panoramic views of Bandarpoonch peak, Kedarkantha peak towards north, Kala Nag, Srikanta, Gangotri group of peaks Doon valley, snow peaks of Changabang and other high Himalayan peaks.

After spending good time there, descent to Thatyur. The vehicles will be arranged for getting to Landour, it is a small town in the Himalayas. The arrangements will be made in a hotel there.

Note: –  Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Necessary Items for trekkers

Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing 
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
