A lesser known beguiling valley in Uttarkashi
Chaainsheel Bugyal is a high altitude valley at a height of 11700 feet in Uttarkashi district. It lies on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. This place is not known much by the trekkers and Uttarakhand Tourism declared it as “Trek of the Year” in 2017.
One of the least explored destination, Chaainsheel valley has a number of surprising meadows and mesmerizing scenic views, it is a heaven in itself.

This is one of the destinations which is least explored, Chaainsheel valley has a number of surprising meadows and mesmerizing scenic views and it is less interrupted by the trekkers so this place can be compared to heaven or you can say it is heaven in itself. You will come across many breathtaking and captivating places in this valley.
The trail is through villages where you will get to see the culture and lifestyle of people living in the mountains. The lush green meadows are desired by the trekkers and here are number of lakes present in this area, one thing which makes this trek amazing is camping in the middle of meadows, serene and refreshing climate and crystal clear views of Garhwal Himalayas in front.

Beginners and experienced trekkers both can go for this trek as this varies from easy to moderate. This is a trek with inherent beauty which is at full bloom in the month of June.

We serve three meals a day including snacks and soup. A variety of delectable and healthy food is provided which includes; Indian, Chinese and other Western meals. They are nutritious and keeps you fit and healthy on your trek.
Dehradun to Dhaula (5100 feet)
Our vehicle picks you up from Dehradun Railway Station and then leaves for Dhaula. Have your breakfast at Kempty Fall around 8:30 am it is a picnic spot famous for a waterfall then have your lunch at Purola around 1:30 pm.
Dhaula is your base camp at an altitude of (5,100 feet) and the trek starts from here. The drive is through picturesque places i.e. Mussoorie, Nainbagh, Damta, Purola, Mori and Netwar and a river accompanies you all along the way, the water is crystal clear and the greenery keeps you refreshed.

You can enjoy thick snow at the time of winters and is all surrounded by beautiful mountains all around and here are varieties of birds in this area which makes this place great for birding.
Dhaula (5,100 feet) to Akhoti thach (8350 feet) (6 hours)
Have your breakfast at your camp Dhaula and it is going to be a long day so with packed lunch leave for Akhoti Thach. The trail is not tough, start your trek with a gentle walk and there are some easy ascents further.
The trail takes you through dark forests of pine trees, trek under the shadow of these trees, keep following the trail you will come across streams on the way where you can refill your water bottles. Keep following the trail which is on right of Estari Gad River. When you continue walking on that trail you will reach a village named “Hadwari”.
Walk through a forest here you can spot variety of birds and animals, keep walking and a meadow will unfold in front of you that is Akhoti Thach, this would surprise you this campsite is beautiful, camp here in middle of the meadow. Relax here dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Akhoti thach (8350 feet) to Chaainsheel (11,700) (6 hours)
Leave from Akhoti Thach to Chaainsheel, today you will be leaving forest behind and further you will find wide meadows with fascinating views of Garhwal Himalayas.
When you leave from Akhoti Thahch you can find snow patches on the way and on the meadows too, it makes them look more beautiful. When you enter the alluring meadows you will see Bandarpoonch glacier, River Ganga and Yamuna Rivers shed their water in it. You will get enthralling views of Swargarohini Peak, slopes of Thola Sheer and Black Peak. You start getting their views from Day 3 till the end of the trek.
Today all day you will be walking over a ridge and you will get panorama views from there of snow covered peaks. After this walk over the ridge you will reach Chaainsheel Bugyal which is captivating and captures everybody’s attention the moment you reach there with beautiful views and blooming beauty. Setup your camps there tomorrow will be your rest day so you can explore this place tomorrow today you can just and relish the beauty and enjoy food and night stay in tents.
Rest and Exploration Day
Today is your exploration day and you will be having enough time to explore this campsite which is at a height of 11,700 feet with great panorama views of Himalayan Peaks and snow.
Chaainsheel Bugyal is at full bloom in the month of June, you can see variety of colourful blooming flowers and soothing greenery. These high altitude meadows are desired by the trekkers; soothing greenery and invigorating climate has energy in its aura which relaxes one’s mind and gives peace. Explore this area capture moments in your lenses and roam to collect and write moments in your adventure diary.
Watching sunrise and sunset from here is a bliss when the sun reflects its light on the peaks the colour changes to orange and golden which you can’t take your eyes off. At night stars cover up the sky and watching uncountable stars from a place with inherent beauty in it makes it really special. Cherish these moments as not everybody gets the chance to witness the extraordinary. Go back to your camps, have your meals and overnight stay there.
Chaainsheel (11,700 feet) to Akhoti thach (8350 feet) (5/6 hours)
Don’t miss out sunrise from here, wake up early to witness the view, today is your last day in Chainsheel Bugyal so have proper look at each and everything so that nothing gets missed. Enjoy your first hot cup of tea watching snow covered mountains, have your breakfast and then bid goodbye to this place.
Leave for Akhoti Thach which was your campsite for Day 3 now you will enter forest before reaching this area, birding is very famous, as varieties of birds and animals are present there. It is descend till Akhoti Thach which isn’t very tough there are some portions of route which becomes tough but they can be cleared without fear if you walk carefully.
Reach your campsite Akhoti Thach, setup your camps there enjoy your meals and overnight stay in tents under the sky full of uncountable stars.
Akhoti thach (8350 feet) to Dhaula (4/5 hours)
Today is the last day of your trek which is from Akhoti Thach to Dhaula camp, you will reach there in 4-5 hours. Retrace your steps and come back to the campsite of Dhaula where you were at Day 1.
Meals and overnight stay in tents.
Dhaula to Dehradun
Have your breakfast early at Dhaula and leave for Dehradun, leave early so that you can reach on time.

ATM Point & Mobile connectivity:-
ATM POINT: Withdraw money before your journey, Dehradun is the last point where you will find ATM.
There are no networks during the trek, in Dhaula your device will receive signals but the connectivity isn’t good in the mountains. So make sure you finish all your important work and calls before starting of the trek.

– Use medicines only when prescribed by the doctor in case you face any problem in your trek, take advice from Professional guide before taking any medicine.
– Drinking water is necessary during your trek, keep 1 litre of water bottle filled and drink it on proper interval of time, it is very important while hiking.
- Make your booking one or two months prior in advance. If you cancel the trek due to any reason, it is mandatory to notify us. Cancellation charges will only be effective from the date we get your request to cancel the trek.
- If the trek gets cancelled from our side due to natural disaster,rainfall, heavy snowfall or any other reason then the refund will not be initiated but we will arrange another trek.
