Its look like tail of Monkey that is why it is called Bandarpunch .Bandarpunch captivates everyone. People also come from abroad for the summit of Bandarpunch . Bandarpunch is situated at a height of around 6312m above sea level.

To summit the Bandarpunch peak you must have knowledge and experience. People worship of this mountain in form of God Hanuman.

This Mountain is situated between Swargarohini and Kalanag Mountain range. Remote view it looks like a monkey is sitting. Major general Harold Williams summited of Bandarpunch in 1950 with group.

The trek starts from Sukhi top which is en route to Gangotri, you can reach the base camp after two days hike and above base camp you will be camping at two alpine camps before traversing summit. Climbing gets tough between camp 1 and summit because of crevasses.

Bandarpunch Expedition lies in Uttarkashi of Garhwal Himalayas. This group of mountains has three peaks which rise higher than 6000 meters (Bandarpunch I) (6312 m), (Bandarpunch II) (6102 m), (Black Peak) (6387 m). This towering peak is visible from many other Treks in Uttarakhand.

It becomes first group to summit Bandarpunch with the help of famous Sherpa Mr. Tenjing, Norg Sargent, and Greenwood. It becomes also history. And even today people go for summit the Bandarpunch .To reach this Mountain you go through Uttarkashi, and Sukhitop

On the way you see meadows, forest. On the way of Bandarpunch You stay many camps than finally you will reach.

Day 5–Base Camp to Camp 1 (4450 m) and Back (Load Ferry)

Day 6–Base Camp to Camp 1 (4450 m)

Day 7–Rest Day at Camp

Day 8–Short Hike up to (5000 m) and back to Camp 1

Day 9–Camp 1 to Summit Camp (5180 m)

Day 10–Acclimatization Day

Day 11–Summit Day (6316 m) and descent to Summit Camp

Things to carry on trek

Medical Certificate (First part should be filled by the Doctor and Second part by the Trekker)

Note: –  Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Necessary Items for trekkers

Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing 
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
